It’s easy to say but hard to do.

What does it look like?

Are we really guarding our heart? or Actually whose heart do we guard?

The heart of our spouse? The hearts of our parents? The hearts of our brothers? The heart of our boss? The hearts of our friends?

Or the hearts of all mentioned above?

For me, guarding the heart is the responsibility of each person. And what I mean here is to guard his/her own heart, not the hearts of others, not even the hearts of his/her spouse.

Just keep your heart clean and pure then the things that will come out will also clean and pure things. If our hearts and minds are clean, then our words and actions also will be clean.

Often, we are too busy guarding the hearts of the people we love or care about, but we forget to take care of our own hearts. Our hearts become bland, gloomy, dirty, full of bitterness and disappointment. And those negative things come out or manifest in our words and actions.

So, if we want to guard the hearts of the people we love then all we need to do is to GUARD OUR OWN HEART. We nourish our hearts by allowing only healthy, pure and positive things to enter. We keep our hearts clean by throwing out dirty, rotten, useless and painful things.

When we take care of our hearts at the same time we also take care the hearts of those we love.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 4:23
